Work risk prevention signals (PRLs) aim to prevent occupational accidents and increase safety in workplaces.

Work risk prevention signals include:

  • Warning signal: a signal warning of risk or danger.
  • A sign of obligation: a sign that compels a particular behavior.
  • Indicative signs: signals that provide other information other than those previously named.

The signaling of labour risks is defined by the characteristics set out in Royal Decree 485, which regulates the provisions to complete with the signaling of health and safety in the workplace.
